KATHMANDU, Nov 4: CPN-UML senior leader Bidya Bhandari has stressed the need to provide accurate information about the party’s work and achievements in the interests of the country and its people, and to ensure an objective assessment.
Addressing the second convention of the International Committee of the Pravasi Nepali Manch, Bhandari said the party’s achievements should be evaluated objectively.
“Accurate information about the work this party has done and the achievements it has made in the interests of the country and its people must be disseminated, and those achievements must be objectively assessed,” she said. “Misconceptions, misinformation and rumours spread about the party should be countered with facts and evidence.”

Bhandari also noted that Nepalis living abroad face different circumstances, needs and challenges. She said the organisation should shape its activities around the concerns of Nepali workers, students, businesspeople, women, young people and those engaged in various professions.
She stressed that the organisation should effectively represent the shared concerns of Nepalis from all walks of life and communities.
Bhandari said it was a shared responsibility to keep Nepali children growing up abroad and younger generations connected to their language, culture, history and homeland.
She added that an environment should be created in which they could take pride in their Nepali identity wherever they live. To achieve this, she said, Nepali language education, cultural programmes and literary activities should be encouraged and promoted.
