Bhattarai’s ‘new power’ not to merge with Upendra Yadav’s party

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Former prime minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai brushed aside the rumor that his 'new power' campaign will merge with Federal Socialist Forum Nepal-led by Upendra Yadav.

Addressing a press meet in the capital on Tuesday, Bhattarai clarified that the 'new power' campaign was yet to develop into a party. "How can we merge our campaign with a party," he said.The former PM also made it clear that he is not in talks with any parties regarding merger, however, he is in touch with everyone.

The two-day gathering of the 'new power' campaigners unveiled a nine-point commitment paper.

In another context, he said that India blockade should not be viewed together with ongoing Madhes protests.
