CHITWAN, Jan 20: Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolis Renu Dahal resigned from her post today. She submitted her resignation to Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari.
Dahal decided to step down before filing her candidacy for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan-3, representing the Nepali Communist Party.

Addressing a meeting of the metropolis executive, Dahal expressed her gratitude to all those who supported her during her second term in office.
Following her resignation, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari has been designated as the Acting Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolis.
