Berger Nepal on fulfilment of certain criteria will bear the premium for the policies so that the members can enjoy the benefits free of cost.[break]
In a program in the capital, the company said Berger has launched the scheme in view of the fact that paint contractors are exposed to occupational risks and hazards. Under this scheme, eligible members shall benefit from the Life Insurance Policy worth Rs 100,000 to Rs 1 million, depending on various criteria.
According to the company, the policy shall be valid for 15 and 20 years, depending on the age of the eligible members with fixed-term return every 5 years.
In order to augment social security for the contractors, Berger had initially launched Berger Contractor Club in 2005, with 90 members in Kathmandu.
Later, it was renamed as Sambandh in 2006 and presently the club is operating in Kathmandu and Pokhara. The club has more than 1,500 registered members while expansion plans are being implemented in other cities at the moment.
In the same program, the company also launched Berger Health Insurance Scheme for paint contractors for Rs 500,000 or more.
The company said health insurance shall cover self, spouse and up to 2 dependent children for reimbursement of up to Rs 100,000 per annum of medical expenditure in case of hospitalization.
