KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Bahadur Singh Lama has agreed to resign from his position following an agreement reached with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
According to Lawmaker Ram Krishna Chitrakar, who participated in the meeting held in Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Saturday, Lama has agreed to resign from his post on Sunday. Despite losing to Indra Baniya as parliamentary party leader, Lama was in the stance of not resigning from the provincial chief minister.

Amid new development, Lama consented to Deuba's proposal to appoint his nominated three candidates for three new ministers, while moving forward with the legacy to remain united as a parliamentary party. Even after losing the post of parliamentary party leader, Lama appointed Govinda Lamsal, Maya Shrestha and Gita Gurung as provincial ministers. The trio are yet to take oath of office for their new positions.
