Ashika Tamang released on Rs 20,000 bail

On January 9, Tamang reached the Pashupati Temple premises and presented herself in an indecent manner to the officers, employees and police personnel of the Pashupati Area Development Trust. In response, the police arrested Tamang on January 15.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Social activist Ashika Tamang, who was arrested on charge of showing indecent behavior, has been released on bail.


The District Administration Office, Bhaktapur has decided to release Tamang on a bail of Rs 20,000.

Earlier, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, had released her on a bail of Rs 10,000. The Bhaktapur police had arrested shortly after the Kathmandu police released her on bail.
