KATHMANDU, Dec 17: The Morang District Court on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against Anjala Koirala, the wife of chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Rishikesh Pokharel, in connection with a co-operative fraud case.
A bench of district court judge Arun Kumar Jha issued the arrest warrant against 26 people, including Pokharel’s wife Anjala, on the charge of embezzlement of funds of Umagouri Agricultural Cooperative Society Limited in Morang.

The District Government Attorney’s Office, Morang, had filed a case against 26 individuals including the chairman of the cooperative, Shambhu Rauniyar, on the basis of a report submitted by the Area Police Office, Rangeli.
The District Government Attorney’s Office has demanded Rs 220 million from the defendants. Anjala is a former director of the Umagouri Agricultural Cooperative.
