Arguments in Lamichhane’s case complete, decision likely today

The rebuttal was carried out after the remand arguments were completed between the government attorney, legal practitioners on behalf of the plaintiff and the defendant's lawyer. The case was heard by the bench of Judge Prahlad Kumar Yogi.

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: The rebuttal arguments have been completed in the Rupandehi District Court for the case of the defendants including the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra  Party (RSP) in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case of Butwal.


The rebuttal was carried out after the remand arguments were completed between the government attorney, legal practitioners on behalf of the plaintiff and the defendant's lawyer. The case was heard by the bench of Judge Prahlad Kumar Yogi.

After the rebuttal arguments, the court is likely to issue an order today on whether to send Lamichhane to custody for trial, release him on bail or release him on a regular date.


Earlier, the Kaski District Court had released Rabi Lamichhane on a bail of Rs 6.5 million in the Suryadarshan Cooperative case of Pokhara, while the Kathmandu District Court had ordered his release on a bail of Rs 6 million in the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative case of Kalimati.
