APF divers recover bodies of two minors missing in Danav River

The victims have been identified as Umesh Yadav,13, and Munu Harijan,12. They had gone missing on Monday while swimming in the river near Lumbini Cultural Municipality-2.

KATHMANDU, April 22: Two boys who went missing while swimming in the Danav River in Rupandehi have been found dead.


According to police, the bodies were recovered on Tuesday morning by a team of divers from the Armed Police Force (APF).

The victims have been identified as Umesh Yadav,13, and Munu Harijan,12. They had gone missing on Monday while swimming in the river near Lumbini Cultural Municipality-2.


The divers from the APF No. 42 Reserve Battalion in Banke were deployed for the search operation on the same night.


A joint team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Koirala from the APF's Security Base in Lumbini, along with a diving unit under the command of Inspector Ram Kumar Ghimire from the Border Outpost, recovered the bodies of the two missing boys on Tuesday morning from the same spot where they had gone missing.


The body of Raj Yadav,14, who was also among the missing, was recovered on Monday evening.
