Pandey said the bank would continue to expand and reach the doors of the general public.
The bank has a network of 241 branches of which 92 provide full-fledged financial services while the other branches offer limited services.
IME to issue bonus shares
KATHMANDU, Sept 23: The fifth annual general meeting (AGM) of IME Financial Institution´s has decided to issue 20 percent bonus shares and offer a 1:3 rights issue to shareholders.
The AGM, held on Tuesday, also approved the decisions to raise authorized capital to Rs 4 billion and paid-up capital to Rs 1.2 billion, according to a statement issued by IME on Wednesday.
The AGM was inaugurated by the Hem Raj Dhakal, chairperson of the bank´s Board of Directors.
Sunrise opens 23rd branch in Rajbiraj
KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Sunrise Bank has opened its 23rd branch in Rajbiraj of Saptari district.
Bachharaj Tated, director of the bank, and Shree Ram Kabara, president of Rajbiraj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, jointly inaugurated the new branch on Wednesday, says a press release issued by the bank. The bank has announced that it would provide all modern facilities being provided by other branches from the new branch.
The bank earned a profit of Rs 140 million during the fiscal year 2008/09. It collected a deposit of Rs 14 billion and dispersed loan amounting Rs 9.4 billion and invested Rs 3.35 billion till mid-September. The bank is opening two more branches in Dadeldhura and Biratnagar in the near future.
