KATHMANDU, September 15: Police here destroyed marijuana plants planted across 700 ropanis of land at Okhareni in Gokarneshwor Municipality-1 in Kathmandu district on Thursday.
The team of police mobilized by the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha destroyed the hemp cultivated in the private land nearby Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.
The illegal plantation was destroyed considering its commercial production upon harvest, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Aychut Pudasaini.
Hemp is also learned to be planted across around 2,000 ropani of land nearby the Park, said DSP Pudasaini, adding that police were preparing to destroy the opium planted across 1,300 ropanis area this week. RSS
