54 inmates get Dashain reprieve

KATHMANDU, Oct. 19: On the occasion of the Badadashain festival-2012, the government has decided to release 54 inmates serving term in different prisons throughout the country by cutting short their remaining term as per the Prison Regulations.



Those pardoned of their remaining terms are inmates who have already served more than 50 per cent of their term and who have demonstrated good conduct.



The pardon has been granted to the inmates by the order of the President, the Department of Prison Management stated in a press release today.
