Those ministries not responding to public complaints are the Ministry of Education (MoE); Ministry of Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs; Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment; Ministry of Labor and Employment; and the Ministry of Information and Communication.
"Similarly, the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission and Tribhuvan University are the other two bodies that sat on public grievances during the same period," read a statement issued by the PMO on Sunday.The PMO said all these ministries and other bodies didn't respond to the complaints even as the public informed the authorities about their difficulties with regard to basic and essential services such as problems in telephone (mobile and fixed lines) services, transportation, power cuts, urgent need of tents and various incidents of cheating and black marketing during the days when people were worst hit by earthquakes.
The Baburam Bhattarai-led government had began the Hello Sarkar service, where anyone can call at the toll free number (1111) and register their complaints, four years ago with a view to ensuring the access of general public to the central authorities.
So far, altogether 36,047 complaints have been registered at the desk of Hello Sarkar and of them 34,650 have been addressed, said the PMO.
The home ministry is the one to receive highest number of complaints (6,268). Similarly, other ministries to receive higher numbers of complaints are the ministry of education (4,341), the ministry of federal affairs and local development (2,816), physical infrastructure and transportation ministry (2,428), Nepal Electricity Authority (1,754), the ministry of commerce and supply (1,541), finance ministry (1,525), ministry of labor and employment (1,382) and the health ministry (1,160).
