Over 4,000 cases of banking offenses filed in four months of current FY 2024/25

The Kathmandu Valley reported the highest number of cases, with 2,629 banking offenses incidents filed. In the previous fiscal year 2023/24, a total of 4,190 cases were recorded nationwide during the same timeframe.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Banking offenses have surged across the country, with 4,359 cases registered in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2024/25, an increase of 169 cases compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Nepal Police.


The Kathmandu Valley reported the highest number of cases, with 2,629 banking offenses incidents filed. In the previous fiscal year 2023/24, a total of 4,190 cases were recorded nationwide during the same timeframe.

In the last four months, Nepal Police registered 19,498 cases of various crimes, with banking crimes topping the list. During the entire fiscal year 2023/24, Nepal Police handled 13,263 banking offenses cases across the country.
