KATHMANDU, May 22: The first Annapurna Marathon is set to kick off on the occasion of Annapurna Sanctuary Tourism Festival on June 3. Speaking at a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Monday, the tournament coordinator Rishi Bhandari informed that the players will complete a track race of 42.195 km starting from Annapurna base camp to Macchapuchhre base camp.

The route includes Bagar, Deurali, Himalaya, Dobhan, Sinuwa, Chomrang, Ghurjung, Tadhapani and coming to an end at Ghandruk. The marathon will start at 4200 ft high from sea-level and end at 1600 at the finishing line. A total of 100 male runners will take part in the marathon as the organizers committed to make a provision to include women and foreign runners from the next edition. The registration fee of the tournament is Rs 100 per person.
