18 bodies found in Everest base camp avalanche

SOLUKHUMBU, APRIL 27: Eighteen bodies have been found after avalanche followed the earthquake at the Everest Base Camp. Private airliners Manang Air and Fishtail Air have collected bodies of 4 foreigners and 14 Nepalis from the base camp. These people died from the avalanche at Pumori Mountain.

It has been feared that more than 20 people are still missing in the avalanche. Journalist Anfula Sherpa has informed that none of the dead have been identified.The police have been unable to reach the base camp so that the documentation of death has not been possible. 170 climbers in 17 teams trying to scale the Everest have been rescued from the first and second camp. The rescued climbers have been left alone in the base camp. Most of them are foreign nationals. Army helicopter has so far failed to reach the base camp.
