The clash ensued after YCL members tried to disturb a program organized to exchange New Year greetings by RPP in Basantapur, Madi. [break]
Those injured include RPP district member Madan Paudel, cadres Raju Paudel and Krishna Tiwari, among others. They have been brought to the Chitwan Medical College for treatment.
RPP district office said a group of YCL members led by YCL´s district Treasurer Hari Bhusal attacked RPP cadres with batons. The office said YCL cadres vandalized tables, chairs and source system set up at the program venue.
The injured said YCL cadres attacked them without any warning as the program was in progress. Though the police was present at the scene, they were silent.
RPP district office has demanded that those involved in the attack be brought to book.
