MAKWANPUR, Oct 15: A 13-year-old girl tragically drowned in the Chiruwa River in Makwanpur on Monday evening.
Rubina Tamang, originally from Lalitpur, had been staying at her maternal uncle’s home in Bagmati Rural Municipality-1, Hattidhunga.

She had been swimming in the river, about a kilometer south of the house, with three others when the incident occurred.
Upon being alerted by Tamang’s sister, Yalina Tamang, their grandfather and neighbors quickly rushed to the scene and pulled her from the water. Rubina was immediately taken to Saanvi Medico in Jhurjhure, where medical professionals later confirmed her death.
