10 more political parties registered for local-level election purpose

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Ten more political parties have been registered at the Election Commission (EC) for the purpose of local level election scheduled for May 13.

According to the EC, Janamat Party, Mangol National Organisation, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, Rastriya Nagarik Party, Janata Pragatisheel Party Nepal, Nepal Loktantrik Party, Deshbhakta Samaj, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party and Maulik Jarokilo Party were registered. The number of political parties registered at EC as per the Constitution of Nepal, Political Party-related Act has reached 109 so far.


During a press meet organised at the EC on Monday, Assistant Spokesperson of the EC Surya Prasad Aryal shared that the final voters' name list and updated one have been sent to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Sunday for publishing in the Nepal Gazette. An arrangement has been made where a voter can file application at the District Election Office along with recommendation of ward office for the correction if any error in the details were noticed, the EC said.  (RSS)
