KATHMANDU, June 14: A bus suffered a brake failure on the East-West Highway at Diver Danda in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-15, Makawanpur, on Saturday afternoon, leading to a chain-reaction crash that left 10 people injured.
According to the District Police Office, Makawanpur, the incident occurred at around 3:20 PM when a passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 2970) traveling from Birgunj to Hetauda lost control due to brake failure.

The bus first collided with an unregistered car coming from the opposite direction, then rammed into a tanker (Na 8 Kha 440) moving ahead of it. Despite the collisions, the bus continued for about 100 meters before crashing into a roadside tree, which finally brought it to a stop.
A total of 10 people were injured—four from the bus and six from the car. All the injured were rescued and taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment.
Police said six of the injured sustained moderate injuries, while four had minor injuries. The car was severely damaged, while the tanker sustained minor damage to its rear section.
Traffic police were deployed to manage vehicle movement at the scene and are continuing investigations into the incident.
