KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The government has appointed former justice Abadhesh Kumar Yadav as the Chairman of Nepal Press Council. A cabinet meeting held on Friday appointed Yadav for the next four years. The post was lying vacant after Narayan Prasad Sharma retired after his four-year term expired recently.

Former Supreme Court justice Yadav had courted several controversies for his verdicts, including the one concerning the writs related to former UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Keshav Rai. [break]

The cabinet meeting on Friday also appointed Dharmendra Kumar Morbaita ´Pappu´ as Chairman of Nepal Film Development Board.
