Women's T20 Cricket: Nepal defeats Hong Kong by 6 wickets

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepal has defeated Hong Kong by 6 wickets in the ongoing Women's T20 International Cricket Tournament in Uganda.

In the match held at the Entebbe Cricket Ground, Hong Kong won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 104 runs after losing 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Nepal successfully chased the target of 105 runs, reaching it in 19.3 overs with 4 wickets remaining.

For Nepal, Samjhana Khadka was the top scorer, making 47 runs off 43 balls which included 3 fours. Puja Mahato remained unbeaten on 20 runs, and Captain Indu Barma contributed 18 runs.

In bowling, Hong Kong's Mahekdeep Kaur and Wang Lei each took one wicket.

Earlier, during Hong Kong's innings, Shanjin Shahzad was the top scorer, making 54 runs off 47 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. Additionally, Kary Chan scored 16 runs, and Yasmin Daswani contributed 14 runs.

For Nepal, Rajmati Airee took 3 wickets, while captain Barma claimed 2 wickets. Puja Mahato and Ishwari Bista each took 1 wicket.
