KATHMANDU, Jan 31: A secretariat meeting of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has decided to oppose the ordinances introduced by the government.

The party’s Deputy General Secretary Ram Kumar Bhattarai said that the meeting held at the central office in Aloknagar on Thursday decided to oppose the six ordinances recently brought by the government.

He said, “The ordinance brought by the government has subverted the Black Market Act. As soon as the act that prohibited profit exceeding 20 percent was repealed, the price of cement in the market increased dramatically. Since the government is in favor of a handful of individuals and entrepreneurs, the party must stand against this.”

Bhattrai further said that the party would protest the ordinances introduced by the government both in parliament and on the streets. He stated that they have decided to protest against the government as it is trying to bring even protected land under its ownership and give that land to individuals, groups, and industries.
