"We stated that the seven-point agreement should be amended so that it could be acceptable to all the parties to pave the way for national consensus," said Oli after the meeting held at prime minister´s office at Singha Durbar.
The seven-point deal between Khanal and Dahal signed just ahead of the last prime ministerial election, and the row between the Maoists and the UML over the over the home ministry portfolio have delayed the government formation process.
"We said that the agreement should be amended. The discussion is still continuing. We will hold another meeting," said Oli.
The leaders have yet to fix the date for another round of meeting. The UML had formed a talks team comprising Prime Minister Khanal, Senior party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Oli and Ishwar Pokharel to hold talks with other parties for national consensus.
