KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Three communist parties—CPN Maoist (Revolutionary), CPN Rastrabadi and Nepal Jan Sharmik Party—have merged and formed CPN Maoist (Revolutionary).

Organizing a press meet in the capital on Monday, the parties said that their unity was to end an autocratic state power and begin ‘people’s war’ for people’s government. [break]

The new party has decided to hold their general convention from November 30 to December 6.

Speaking at the meet, Chairman of the new party Janpath said the state power can only be seized through bullet. He accused that Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Baburam Bhattarai, Mohan Baidya and Matrika Yadav, among other communist leaders, backing parliamentary politics in the name of communism.

Bhupendra Neupane, chairman of Samyukta Krantikari Morcha Nepal, said that communist leaders from Pushpa Lal to Pushpa Kamal have embraced sacrificial ideology. “The new party will fight for freedom of Nepali,” he added.
