SPORTS BRIEFS: Top team to play AFC President's Cup

KATHMANDU, March 30: One of the two leading teams of the ongoing Nepal´s domestic A division league -- New Road Team (NRT) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) -- is certain to represent Nepal in the AFC President´s Cup 2010.



A joint meeting of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the ´A´ division league clubs on Tuesday decided to send the winner of the first leg of the league to participate in the AFC President´s Cup. [break]



With one match on hand for both the teams, NRT have gathered 23 points and NPC have 22 while third placed Nabil Three Star Club have 21 points after playing all 11 matches of the first leg.



Thursday´s separate matches of the top two teams will decide the winner.





Bhandari wins martial arts game



KATHMANDU, March 30: Nabaraj Bhandari won bronze medal in the World Muay Thai Championships held from March 18-26 in Bangkok, Thailand.



Nepal Martial Arts Games Committee´s President Krishna Bahadur Balal informed that Bhandari won the medal in men´s 75 kg weight category.



Meanwhile, Sudeep Chhetri and Nirmal Pahari passed the referee seminar held on the occasion. Seven Nepalis, including a referee had participated in the event.
