Snowfall in Okhaldunga affects normal life

OKHALDUNGA, Dec 15: Snowfall in the high hills in Okhaldunga has affected normal life in the district. Children, elderly people and cattle have been severely hit, according to Harikumar Magar, chairperson of the management committee of Grace Academy at Thade village. “Schools have been closed. The weather has fallen very hard on kids, elderly people as well as cattle,” he said. 

The hills had received slight rainfall and snowfall since Friday evening Additional snowfall on Saturday made things worse for the locals. Patle, Kati, Rawadolu and Bhusiga areas are the worst hit by snowfall. 

According to Magar, schools might remain closed for a few more days and children are likely to fall ill due to the cold weather. 

Snow and rainfall have however left farmers happy. They expect crops in the fields to grow well.
