In a panel system, a group of judges are assigned to take up certain number of cases. Panel system is something new in the existing judicial system.
The Supreme Court has long exercised to introduce the panel and its plan materialized on Monday after the amendment to the Supreme Court regulations became effective through its publication in the Nepal Gazette.
The regulation allows the chief justice to assign and transfer the panel of judges. SC says that the provision was made in a bid to deliver justice to the people on time.
