Sankata, APF vie for title Tuesday

MORANG, March 11: A division outfits Armed Police Force (APF) and CMG Club Sankata will be eyeing their first title of the season when they play each other in the final of Rumpum Birat Gold Cup Football Tournament on Tuesday in Biratnagar, Morang.



During their encounter in the Martyrs Memorial A Division League in January, APF had defeated Sankata 2-0 with goals from Arjun Subba and Shyam Nepali. A month earlier, Sankata had defeated APF 2-1 in the quarterfinal of Simara Gold Cup held in Bara. [break]



"We are aiming to avenge the defeat suffered in the Simara Gold Cup," said APF coach Janak Singh Tharu, adding that they would come up in a 4-4-2 formation. Sankata coach Shyam Mali was confident of beating the departmental team again.



"We had defeated APF in our last meeting and are confident of beating them on Tuesday as well," said Mali.
