Rohit becomes world youngest cricketer with ODI half century

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Rohit Kumar Paudel has become world’s youngest cricketer to score an ODI half-century. Paudel scored 55 runs during Nepal’s three-match ODI Series against the UAE on Saturday at the age of 16 years and 146 days. 

Rohit hit a 58-ball 55 to become the youngest player with ODI half-century leaving behind Shahid Afridi of Pakistan and Sachin Tendulkar of India in test cricket. The Pakistani legend was 16 years and 217 days young when he smashed a century against Sri Lanka in series where he had made his debut.

Afridi had converted his half-century into a 37-ball 102 which remained as the fasted ODI century for a long time. 

Likewise, Indian star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had made 59 runs against Pakistan in test cricket at the age of 16 years and 213 days.
