The robbery took place at the home of Renu Karna and Paltu Sadaya of Lahan municipality-8.
The looters burgled 10 tolas of gold, Rs 8,000 in cash and a mobile set from the home of Karna and two tolas of gold and a mobile set from Sadaya´s home, confirmed the Ward Police Office, Lahan.[break]
Tul Bahadur Magar, a local, injured while retaliating the burglars is admitted to Lahan Hospital for treatment. Police speculated that the burglars had stabbed knife to the stomach of Magar.
Locals had retaliated the robbers when the latter stormed into the houses and started burgling.
Siraha Police Chief and Superintendant of Police Manoj Neupane said that the police squad had recovered a homemade pistol and its bullet from the site.
Investigation into the incident is on, said SP Neupane.
