Outgoing CoAS Gen Chhatra Man Singh Gurung handed over responsibility to Rana amid a function at the Nepal Army’s headquarters in the capital today.
Incumbent army chief Gurung is going on a month-long customary leave beginning Friday prior to his retirement. [break]
Rana will take full charge as NA chief on September 9, when Gurung will retire. A letter to this effect has been dispatched to the defense ministry, said the NA´s directorate of public relations (DPR) in a press statement.
