Policewoman injures self

DANG, June 11: A policewoman at District Police Office, Dang was injured when her own weapon suddenly went off on Thursday. According to police sources, Bimala Basnet´s .303 rifle went off and injured both her legs when she was handing over the weapon after completing her duty.



Basnet is being treated at Rapti Sub-regional Hospital, hospital sources said. Doctors involved in the treatment said she has received bullet injuries above her knees and that her condition is normal.



Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Tikaram Sejwal confirmed the incident but refused to divulge further details.
