Pay cell phone bills via SMS<br/>Bajaj Maha X-change Mela starts

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Cell phone bills can now be paid via SMS. An agreement to this effect was reached earlier this week between Global Bank and Nepal Telecom (NT). [break]



Amar Nath Singh, managing director of NT, and Anil Gyawali, CEO of Global Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their companies, says a press statement issued by the bank. Global Bank is the first bank in Nepal to introduce such a service, according to the statement.



As per the pact, postpaid customers of NT can now pay their cell phone bills though the internet banking service of the bank, various counters of the bank and even through SMS.



Likewise, bills of PSTN, or landline, can also be paid via internet banking service or through various counters of the bank, according to the statement. "The bank is planning to introduce more of such convenient bill payment services in the coming days," says the press statement.





Bajaj Maha X-change Mela



KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The sixth edition of Bajaj Maha X-change Mela has started in Bhrikuti Mandap. Hansraj Hulaschand Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Bajaj two-wheelers for Nepal, said in a statement that those who exchange or buy motorcycle at the event would get various motorcycle accessories as gifts.



According to Hansraj Hulaschand, more than 20 companies are participating in the event to offer the best possible prices for old two-wheelers that customers exchange with Bajaj two-wheelers. Spot financing will also be available for buyers, it added.



“Bajaj hopes that this edition of Bajaj Maha X-change Mela will also prove to be fruitful to all Bajaj motorcycle fanatics who wish to purchase Bajaj Motorcycles at the best price possible in exchange to their old bikes,” it reads.



The event ends Sunday.





Sipradi in Shankhamul



KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles for Nepal, has opened a new service center in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.



The ultra modern service center for light vehicles commenced its operation on Tuesday. To commemorate the opening of the new center, Sipradi organized a three-day free service camp beginning Wednesday.



The company is offering huge discounts on various parts and services during the scamp. To attract more customers, the company is also giving away attractive prizes to every vehicle present at the service camp. Attractive prizes are also being offered on every test drive of Tata´s Indica Vista.



Meanwhile, Shambhu Prasad Dahal, CEO of Sipradi Trading, has announced to launch Delta Special Service Plan soon, under which members will get a discount of 12 percent and 20 percent on spare parts and lubricants respectively.





Himalayan Bank opens new branch



KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Himalayan Bank has opened a new branch at New Baneshwar. This is the bank´s 24th branch.



This outlet was inaugurated by Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of the bank, on Friday, according to a press statement issued by the bank. Shrestha also announced the bank´s plan to open 10 new branches in both rural and urban centers of the country within this fiscal year.



It is also planning to install 20 more automated teller machines (ATMs) this fiscal year thereby taking the number of its ATM kiosks in the country to 60.
