KATHMANDU, March 4: All ticket counters at Gongabu-based New Bus Park, where public vehicles operate nationwide, have started online ticketing.

To enhance technology integration and provide passengers with convenient services, the bus park has implemented online ticketing at all 47 counters.

Lotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with transport entrepreneurs, has integrated the bus park's ticket counters into the online system, according to Pankaj Malla, the company's head of human resources. The company operates the New Bus Park under an agreement with Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Public transport from the bus park in Gongabu, Ward 26 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, now connects passengers to 70 districts across the country. Additionally, vehicles traveling to districts such as Sindhupalchowk, Okhaldhunga, Dolakha, Ramechhap, and Khotang operate from Koteshwar.

Apart from the New Bus Park, transport operators currently run vehicles from Kalanki, Old Bus Park, Gaushala, Koteshwar, and Sorhakhutte to various districts. However, Kathmandu Metropolitan City aims to centralize all vehicle operations at New Bus Park and is actively working towards this goal.

In 2057 BS, the chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the chairman of Lhotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd. signed an agreement under the "public-private partnership" model to establish and operate the New Bus Park.

The bus park management has designated separate parking areas for buses coming from outside districts and those operating within the Kathmandu Valley.

Currently, New Bus Park accommodates up to 800 vehicles. Every day, around 350 to 400 vehicles travel to various districts from the bus park.
