Role of 14 Joint-Secretaries reshuffled in Finance Ministry
KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Minister of Finance Bishnu Paudel has made changes in the leadership of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and the Department of Customs. In a reshuffle involving 14 joint-secretaries, he has appointed new directors-general to these departments.
Joint Secretary Mahesh Bhattarai has been transferred from the Ministry's Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Section to the position of Director General of the Department of Customs. Similarly, Madan Dahal has been transferred as Director General of the IRD. Dahal was serving as the head of the Administration Division.
Than Prasad Pangyani has been transferred from the Fiscal Federalism Coordination Division to the Administration Division.
Similarly, Shobha Kant Paudel has been given the responsibility of the Economic Policy Analysis Division from the Public Finance Management Training Center. Joint Secretary Mahesh Acharya has been transferred from the Economic Policy Analysis Division to the Public Finance Management Training Center.
Similarly, Tirtha Raj Chiluwal has been given the responsibility of the Deputy Director General of the IRD. Sebantak Pokharel has been assigned the responsibility of the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division. Joint Secretary Parbati Aryal has been given the responsibility of the Chief Customs Administrator.’
Mahesh Baral, the head of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office, has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance. Yamuna Pradhan, Deputy Director General of the Department of Customs, has been transferred to the Financial Comptroller General Office.
Gopi Krishna Koirala, Deputy Director General of the IRC, has been transferred to the head of the Public Debt Management Office. Amrit Lamsal, the head of the Public Debt Management Office, has been given the responsibility of the Deputy Director General of the Department of Customs.
Similarly, Shyam Prasad Bhandari, the Deputy Comptroller at the Financial Comptroller General Office, has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance's Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Section. Information technology expert Shree Chandra Shah has been transferred to the IRD.
