MUGU, March 8: Khadak Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Congress has been elected to the House of Representatives from Mugu.
According to Chief Election Officer Min Bahadur Kunwar, Shahi won the election with 7,914 votes. Shahi's closest competitor, Purna Bahadur Rokaya of the CPN (UML) received 6,718 votes, while Chandra Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Communist Party received 5,558 votes.

Similarly, Bhuvan Tamata of the Rastriya Swatantra Party received 530 votes, Bal Bahadur Malla of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 203 votes, Aitan Malla of the Pragatisheel Lokatantrik Party received 22 votes, and Rangabir Pariyar of the Nepali Communist Party (Maoist) received 280 votes.
Out of the registered 36,031 voters in the district, 22,115 votes were cast in the election held on March 5. Shahi is the former party president of the Nepali Congress, Mugu.
Mugu is a single electoral constituency for the HoR election.
