KATHMANDU, March 4: The Nepali Congress (NC) has issued a whip to all its Members of Parliament (MP) to attend the parliamentary proceedings tomorrow.

NC Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire on Tuesday sent a message to the Lower House MPs on their mobile phones, instructing them to attend the meeting as the government prepares to table all six recently issued ordinances for voting.

The parliamentary session is set to start at 1 pm after a recess of a couple of days.

An agreement has been reached between the ruling parties to move forward with five of them, excluding the land-related ordinance, after the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-Nepal) and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) opposed the land ordinance.

Meanwhile, the ruling party CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula also issued a whip to all CPN (UML) MPs to attend the meeting. The whip issued by Bartaula states, “As the ordinances will be put to voting n in the meeting of the House of Representatives, there is a request for mandatory attendance.”
