Of the total CC members, 10 members including the party president are directly elected. Currently, the NC has Regional Committee in all five development regions. The Suggestion Committee has proposed to scrap the provision of electing CC member from Regional Committee, but has proposed to nominate one member each from all 14 zones until provinces under federal state structure is determined.
NC is also set to make its organizational bodies-ranging from center to village level-more inclusive. The Suggestion Committee handed over the amendment proposal to the party´s Central Working Committee (CWC) on Tuesday. The proposal will be forwarded to the party´s upcoming general convention after it gets endorsed from the CWC, according to Sitaula.
The amendment proposal has proposed to increase general convention member to 10 from the existing 7 from each constituency. This will include two women and one member from indigenous community.
Likewise, there will be a total 44 CC members in the party. While 10 of them will be elected from indigenous category, one each from 14 zones (later from provinces) and 20 other will elected through an open election. Party president will have rights to nominate 18 CC members as per the proposal made by the committee.
The Committee has also proposed to allow the party´s sister organizations to bring in their representatives in the party´s general convention. Among others, the Committee has proposed forming Senior Politicians´ Assembly (SPA) comprising the party´s elderly members and well-wishers. Similar organization is proposed in all districts in the country.
