Maoist cadres impound timber

BARDIBAS, Feb. 19: Cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist) have seized a truck-load of timber being smuggled towards India at the border town of Samsi Bazaar on Thursday night. They have handed over the timber to the police.



Member of the UCPN (Maoist) Mahottari district unit Bijaya Yadav said the timber was seized from a truck with registration number Na 3 Kha 23 that was heading towards India.[break]



Police said the timber was brought from the Banke Mahada forest. The truck and the timber will be handed over to the District Forest Office for necessary action, it is learnt.
