Lawmakers meet Nembang

KATHMANDU, July 16: Lawmakers associated to different parties urged the government on Saturday to make the new schedule public to conclude the peace and statute drafting processes within the extended timeframe of Constituent Assembly (CA).



The lawmakers close to different parties expressed their concern and drew CA Chairman Subash Nembang´s attention to bring the new schedule to planning to complete all works related to peace and draft of the statute within August 31 as per the major three parties´ agreement signed on May 28.[break]



The three parties --- Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) signed the five-point agreement.



According to the agreement, the parties had to reach to consensus for the modality for the Maoist Combatants´ integration within June 19, select a team to survey them by June 25, start regrouping them from June 28, and present the draft for the new constitution on August 31.



They also demanded a clear reply to the CA and all Nepali people for the delay.



Lawmakers Pradeep Gyawali, Shanker Pokhrel, Gagan Thapa, Mangal Siddhi Manandhar, Bishnu Rimal, Prithvi Subba Gurung including others signed on the letter that was submitted to CA Chairman Nembang.
