The central committee of the MPFR-D had sent a letter to Mandal and Begum Sunday asking them to furnish clarifications within 72 hours regarding their alleged involvement in activities against party interests. [break]
“We registered our clarifications as asked,” Mandal and Begum told Republica.
Asked about the clarifications he submitted, Mandal said, “I have written that the allegations against me are baseless and are only meant to damage my political image.”
Mandal said that he was ready to face any action against him.
Begum has stated in her clarifications that she was not involved in any activity against the party.
MPRF-D has also published a newspaper notice seeking clarifications from another lawmaker, Sanjay Sah, for his alleged involvement in activities against party interests and in financial irregularities. He had not been in contact with the party.
MPRF-D Chief Whip Ramjanam Chaudhari said the party would move forward action against the three lawmakers after studying their clarifications.
