KATHMANDU, March 18: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has warned schools not to enroll students before the academic session begins. It further directed them to follow the law in the admission process.

Rule 48(6) of the Metropolitan City's School Education Management Regulations, 2074 BS, prohibits schools from admitting students before the academic session starts.

The metropolis received complaints that some schools violated this provision by starting the admission process early. It urged those schools to stop such activities immediately.

It also warned that schools breaking the regulations would face legal action.

"We urge schools not to enroll students before the academic session begins. Otherwise, we will take action as per the prevailing laws," the metropolis stated in its notice.

To maintain order in school education, it called on all schools to fully comply with legal provisions.
