ACCHAM, May 30: Two people died and three others were injured after a jeep accident on the Mid-Hill Highway at Thapamod in Panchdeval Binayak Municipality-4, Achham, on Thursday night.
The jeep, bearing registration number Ba Pra 01-027 Cha 2277 and operated by Satlok Ashram, Janakpur, was traveling from Darchula to Jumla when it plunged about 200 meters off the road.

According to Achham Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, 41-year-old Nabin Tuladhar of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Makwanpur, and 45-year-old Ram Prakash Tharu of Bansgadhi Municipality-5, Bardiya, died while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet.
The injured have been identified as 27-year-old Sant Kumar Sah of Kalyanpur Municipality-10, Siraha; Arjun Kumar Paudel of Fedikhola Rural Municipality-4, Syangja; and the jeep driver, 28-year-old Raj Rajendra Bhimraj Chattan Gupta of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-5.
A police team deployed from Belkhet immediately rescued the victims and transported them to Rakam Karnali Basic Hospital in Rakam, Dailekh. After receiving primary treatment there, they were referred to Surkhet for further medical care.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
