ICC on January 29 had announced that ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers being participated by both Nepal and Scotland will be held from July 6 to 26 in Scotland and Ireland. Meanwhile, ICC on Tuesday revealed July 25 and 27 as the match day for Nepal-Scotland match of WCLC.
Both Nepal and Scotland has earned direct entry into the ICC World T20 Qualifiers since both of them have earned T20 International status from the ICC. Nepal was granted the T20I status owing to impressive performance of team in the ICC World T20 held in Bangladesh last year.
If the matches of both the tournament goes as per the schedule, Nepal and Scotland will play first 50-over match (List A) a day before the final of the Qualifiers (on July 26) and play second 50-over match (List A) on July 27, just day after the final match of the Qualifiers.
Earlier, Nepal and Scotland were scheduled to play the two List A matches on June 10 and 12. But, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), a week ago, had requested the world cricket governing body to postpone Championship matches after the T20 Qualifiers owing to the devastating earthquake that claimed lives of more than 7,000 and injured more than 14,000 throughout the country.
Although, ICC rescheduled the fixtures for Nepal and Scotland, however it has not given any reason for the rescheduling the matches. Since the fixtures of the Championship and Qualifiers are contrasting, there are chances that ICC will re-schedule the fixtures.
