The Local Administration remained mute spectator when taxi entrepreneurs charged each passenger Rs. 300 to Rs. 1,000 while traveling 16-km from Sabhakhola to Khandbari municipality of the district, said a victim traveler Pradeep Pyakurel.

A meeting of the representatives of District Administration Office, District Development Committee, transport entrepreneurs and locals agreed to charge Rs. 7 per kilometer after public complaint of high travel cost, informed Chief District Officer Kailashnath Kharel.

Passengers traveling to and from Khandbari have been hit hard with the voluntary decision of increasing vehicle fair by taxi entrepreneurs, said Executive Manager of Khandbari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ramesh Bhattarai.
