It also suggested the government to authorize the proposed panel to declare sick industries and recommend to the government if they can be revived.[break]
The committee will have representations from the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Finance, Nepal Rastra Bank, National Planning Commission, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Nepal Bankers Association.
The Nepal Rastra Bank has submitted a list of suggestions to the FLRC on revival and restructuring of the sick industries. In its suggestions, NRB has categorically stated the role of the government, central bank, lending bank and financial institutions and promoters of sick industries.
The central bank has also suggested the lending financial institutions and loan recipients (sick industries) to sit for dialogue for waiving off interest on loans if the industry concerned had failed to repay loan due to adverse market condition.
The NRB has also suggested the management to run sick industries by cutting expenditure and utilize profit for repaying loan and interest, besides informing the lending financial institutions about their financial health.
