Govt to divest 30% shares of Nepal Telecom to public

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has announced to divest the shares of Nepal Telecom, a government-owned company, to the public. Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel made this announcement during the budget speech for the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/25 on Thursday.

“Nepal Telecom will divest 30 percent of its shares to the general public while the government will retain the majority stake,” Minister Paudel said in his budget speech.
