He said the constitution drafting and peace process would move ahead simultaneously as both the tasks are interlinked.[break]
Without pronouncing the name of the country, he also accused India of directing some Nepali political parties to not promulgate the constitution before completing the peace process.
“The UCPN (Maoist) party doesn´t want to surrender to anyone over the issue of army integration but they are trying to compel us to do so,” Dahal said at a function organized by the Sherpa community in Kathmandu on Sunday. Dahal claimed that leaders from some political parties are likely to change their views immediately after they receive instructions [Aakasbani] from the southern neighbor.
“We are ready for a deal on army integration that is acceptable to all but they want us to surrender. They do not want integration of the Maoist army but accuse us of creating obstructions in the constitution drafting process and army integration,” said the Maoist chairman.
He also accused other political parties of not accepting the idea of restructuring the country wholeheartedly.
He said that his party wanted to transform the country into a federal state with a view to end the age-old exploitation of various communities. “But other parties are accusing Maoists of trying to divide the country,” he said. He also said oppressed communities need to be compensated with preferential rights in social, cultural and economic sectors.
