KATHMANDU, July 12: Leader of the Nepali Congress Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said the there was the chance of national consensus government within July 22.
At an interaction organized in the capital Thursday, leader Dr Mahat said the President has already called the political parties to form a consensus government because the present government led by Dr Baburam Bhattarai was just a caretaker one.
The UCPN-Maoist has not fully internalized the peaceful constitutional system, he said, adding that the recent political document of the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had advocated for the people´s government with the use of force.
Chief of the CPN-UML Publicity Department, Pradip Gyawali, has said the national consensus was eluding because of Prime Minister Bhattarai´s craving to stick to power.
However, Politburo Member of the UCPN-Maoist, Haribol Gajurel said the prime Minister would not step down unless the parties forged consensus at a time there was neither parliament nor the constituent assembly.
